No, but sometimes TaskManager will not allow it to clean up (ie reset the buttons), go to the Control Panel, Mouse, and select your preferance for the left button.

>I was checking out you screen savers and liked them very much. I was
>wondering how difficult would it be for you to create a screen saver

I charge different rates based on:
   - if it will be retailed - percentage, negociated
   - for a corporation
       - I do all the graphics - $100/hr or fixed rate
       - just programming - $50/hr or fixed rate
   - for personal work
       - just for loved one/friend - fixed rate, negociated
   - non-profit charity - free
   - I don't get any credit - $1000/hr
   - X rated or just plain sick - I won't, no matter the $$$

As for how long it would, I would need to know a little bit more. Sometimes composing the animation algorthyms takes the most time of creating a screensaver. If the above is satisfactory or at least you feel we could talk about it, just zip up the graphics and email them to me with your ideas for the screensaver.

Joe,

I would start with the C Programming Language by Kernigan and Richie (the creaters of the C language). Go through the book and work out each problem at the end of the chapters. Get a copy of Visual C++ (also a C compiler). There is a standard addition for about $100. It has lots of online help and samples to play with. Then pick up a copy of Pelzold's Programming Windows and Richter's Advanced Windows for programming in Windows. These have been my bibles over the past 7 years.

>

1)Go to http://www.winzip.com and download the latest shareware version
for your computer.

2) After downloading the proper version for your system to your PC,
just run the .exe file for complete installation instructions.

3)then to select the desired screensaver

Windows 3.1 or NT:
In Program Manager, open the Main Group
double click on Control Panel
double click on Desktop
half way down on the left side you will see 'Screensaver'
click on the down arrow bellow it
scroll through the list of available screensavers
until you find the one you want
click on it (the color should change - ie it will be highlighted)
click on OK

Windows 95:
Right click on your desktop
select Properties
click on the Screensaver Tab
scroll through the list until you see the one you want
click on the one you want
click on OK

Hi there,
You are free to use it, all I ask is either it points to my toy page or
the alt flag in the img tag is set to "Rasberry by Liz Marks".

When you hit the extract button did you set the directory to c:\windows?
Otherwise move the file using explorer or file manager to your windows
directory. Windows of all flavors expects all .scr files to be in the
windows directory (or the windows system directory). Only .scr files in
the windows directory (or the windows system directory) will be displayed
in the screensaver list.

There should be a 'Hit me' button on the Windows 95 taskbar or use
[alt][tab] until you see text saying 'Hit me'. If someone didn't put it
in your StartUp group then just getting out of windows will make it stop.
If it comes back after you start windows again, then write back and tell
me which version of windows you are using so I can give you detailed
instructions.

>I'm having a problem. How do you get rid of mean drifting windows
>after you run it

If you are running the nice version:
Windows 3.x:
hold the alt key and key pressing tab till you see "Ha Ha, I move windows!"
Windows 95:
look on your toolbar for "Ha Ha, I move windows" and click on it.

If you are running the mean version:
look in your startup menu, if it is there then delete it.
restart windows.

>Hi! I just visited your page and downloaded your animated icons to try
>out for win 95, and was wondering how i associated the icon with a

Sorry, these icons are separate programs (little windows). There is currently
no way to make Windows 95 animate icons like it does cursors ...

>I like your screensaver very much! I found your homepage in my office. When
>I saw it, I soon decided to try it in my office and at home.

Actually the really good ones can take the most time. Remember, I do all the
graphics and design the algorithms to make them move in the desired manner,
never mind the hours testing on all possible operating systems.

Below are the hours I spent on various screensaver before giving them to my
beta testers:

Hot Air Balloons 120 hours
Chilies 112 hours
Butterfies 136 hours
Pumpkin parade 210 hours
Dancing Bears 50 hours
Chorus Line 20 hours
Insync 10 hours
Playing with Pixels 36 hours
Dogwood Blossoms 22 hours
Balloons 24 hours
Four leaf clovers 15 hours
Classy Beating Hearts 30 hours
Beating Hearts 34 hours
Florescent Beating Hearts	35 hours
Flying Hearts 26 hours
Puzzle 17 hours
Scramble 9 hours
Holiday Lights 90 hours

I use C for the most part. Do you have any documentation on the windows
sdk? If not go and get Petzold at least (he writes some of the best books
on the sdk)? What I do is get the handle for the different windows using
EnumWindows or GetActiveWindow then I do GetDC( < with that handle > ) and
I can do whatever I want. To keep things neat watch out for palette
conflict. I trick is to copy the palette from the window you want to
draw in into your dib (or whatever image type), this keeps the colors from
changing.

1) It hides all open windows with a copy of the background. It activates
after a random period of time.

2) It was developed on Windows 3.1 (it is old), but works just find on
Windows 95.

Well somebody has to teach the boys how to code! ;p
